About Parker Garrett

Parker Garrett is the pen name of Parker Nolen, a nationally recognized expert in bioethics, regulatory affairs, and institutional oversight. He earned his doctorate in Bioethics from Albany Medical College and has spent more than twenty-five years working at the intersection of clinical ethics, research compliance, and emerging technologies in healthcare.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nolen has advised hospital ethics committees, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and AI governance initiatives on managing ethical risk in complex organizations. His work focuses on the design and breakdown of ethical infrastructures: how decisions are made, recorded, ignored, and sometimes used as instruments of harm.

Writing as Parker Garrett, he brings those themes to his debut medical thriller, Adverse Events. Set in a near-future America where government oversight has been deliberately dismantled, the novel follows research ethics officer Ethan Marris as he uncovers a conspiracy hidden inside one of the nation's most prestigious hospitals.

Parker believes LGBTQ+ characters belong at the center of great stories—not at the margins—because authentic representation matters.

He lives in Lewes, Delaware, with his husband and their ferocious mini-Goldendoodle.

About Mrs. Kasha Davis

Mrs. Kasha Davis is a cornerstone of the Upstate New York drag scene and an internationally recognized drag artist, performer, educator, and advocate. Together with her husband Steve Levins and their business partner Tim Evanicki, she co-founded the production company DRAG ME TO THE STAGE, which has become a leading platform for drag performance in their region and beyond.

After competing on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 and RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars Season 8, Mrs. Kasha Davis embarked on successful national and international tours, bringing her solo shows, speaking engagements, and drag appearances to diverse audiences around the world.

Sober since 2015, she has used her personal journey to become an outspoken advocate for addiction recovery and mental-health awareness — frequently booked as a speaker on those issues. In recognition of her artistry and activism, she was named to Out magazine’s Out100 list in 2023, honored as an artist, trailblazer, and storyteller making a difference for the LGBTQIA+ community. In November 2024, she received the “Visibility Award” from Human Rights Campaign (New England Chapter) for her work promoting drag and inclusivity through initiatives like Drag Story Hour.

About the Book

Adverse Events

Still grieving the loss of his husband, Ethan Marris leaves New York for what he hopes will be a fresh start as a research ethics officer at one of Washington's most prestigious hospitals. Instead, he finds himself drawn into dangerous relationships with both a charismatic physician and the architect of the hospital's groundbreaking AI ethics engine.

As altered records, hidden agendas, and powerful financial interests converge, Ethan is forced to choose between the relationships that have begun to heal him and the truth that will destroy them. There are powerful people willing to kill to protect what they've built.

Ethan never sees them coming.
